One of the most dedicated, loyal players of Survivor Millennials vs. Gen X, Jessica Lewis made Survivor history more than once.

In the game of Survivor, luck may be just as much a factor as is hard strategy and loyal players. Jessica Lewis was arguably the player of Survivor Millennials vs. Gen X to be most involved in the extremes of both sides, as she saw herself become a part of Survivor history in both great ways and bad.

Right out the gate, as castaways from both tribes were gathering scattered supplies, Jessica Lewis found an envelope hidden in the supplies. This became the very first example of the Legacy Advantage, an item that is to be held until Day 36 and opened then. If the holder of the Legacy Advantage is voted out, then the item is transferred to the bag of another participant until Day 36 arises.

She could have had to transfer that Legacy Advantage earlier than we thought were it not for David using a hidden immunity idol on her at the Day 12 tribal council, setting up her allegiance to David. This becomes important later, as her loyalty to David may have become her downfall.

Making the merge, Jessica Lewis managed to get herself back into a position of power thanks to some tribe swaps and social play between the coming factions. She helped vote out Figgy pre-merge and Figgy post-merge, solidifying the strength of the Gen X-ers left in the game.

However, as the game has evolved beyond the original tribal lines, power players started to make moved. Zeke started going after players like Chris and painted a target on his own back in the process. Jessica was part of the alliance of players trying to take out Zeke, while the Zeke-led group was trying to vote out Hannah. As the two separate votes were deadlocks, Survivor Millennials vs. Gen X explore one of the most nerve-wracking aspects of the game: the Rock Draw.

For all the wrong reasons, Jessica Lewis earned herself a place in Survivor history, being involved in the earliest instance of a Rock Draw in a season at Day 30, as well as being the unluckiest victim. No other time has a Rock Draw tiebreaker had six participants in it. Had she gone back on David and voted out Hannah Shapiro (who also celebrates a birthday today), she would have still been in the game, albeit with fewer friends and an unlikely final tribal council win.

Jessica got the raw end of the bargain but took the hit in strides. Immediately after the episode was over, she listed the rock she drew on Craigslist in which should be recognized as one of the most hilarious out-of-game moves in Survivor history.

Jessica has since been active on Twitter, engaging the online Survivor community by tweeting and changing her display picture more than any other castaway. Proving that she’s more of a millennial than some of her younger castaways, we wish Jessica Lewis a very happy 38th birthday! We hope you make it back to the show again some day.
