A brief overview of everything you need to know going into Australian Survivor 2017 as 24 castaways look to spend 55 days in Samoa.

The fourth season of Australian Survivor and the second season on Network Ten in Australia is upon us. On Sunday, fans will see 24 players dropped off in Upolu, Samoa for 55 days — yes, American Survivor fans, 55 — where they will battle for A$500,000 and the title of Sole Survivor. Host Jonathan LaPaglia will again guide the players throughout the season. And looking at the cast and the previews for the season, it could be a phenomenal run.

For starters, the premiere event for Australian Survivor 2017 will stretch over three days. Episodes will air Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from the season, which should be enough to get fans back in the groove after a year hiatus from the show.

Also good to get fans back in the groove will be quite the eclectic group of players that will be competing on the show. The full 24-person cast was announced at the end of June. For a refresher course, let’s take a look at the group of castaways:

You have to give them this — when they promise massive Immunity Challenges, it undoubtedly appears that they are ready to back it up. Those obstacles look absolutely massive and also quite dangerous. Throw in the whole 55 days wrinkle, and it becomes even more daunting.

Clearly Australian Survivor is a much different look than the American original in numerous ways. As a result, that makes for a contrasting experience as a fan that is quite enjoyable.
