Three Survivor players from three different seasons competed in and finished the World Marathon Challenge, racing seven times in seven days.
For many who compete in Survivor, it will be the hardest thing they will ever have to do in their lives. For a select few former players who competed in the World Marathon Challenge the past several days, depending on who you ask, it could be a toss-up.
Survivor Game Changers winner Sarah Lacina took part in a seven-day, seven-marathon competition called the World Marathon Challenge, completing the gargantuan, knee-destroying task. She was joined by Survivor South Pacific player Mikayla Wingle and Cagayan first boot (and former Miami Marlins president) David Samson, all of which survived the challenge.
Not only did these players run 26 miles for a week straight, but as the name suggests, it took place in seven distinct locations around the world. The Survivor players raced first in Antarctica, followed by Cape Town in South Africa, then Perth in Australia, Dubai for Asia, Lisbon for Europe, Cartagena for South America and finishing up in Miami for North America.

It’s not just for the personal pride that Survivor players completed this worldly challenge. Racers raised money in support of a number of amazing charities, including the ALS Association, Stand Up To Cancer, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and many more.
If you are interested in how the Survivor players did, the World Marathon Challenge Facebook page did provide a screen capture of the stats for the entire series of races. In the Men’s Marathon category, David Samson finished 20th overall out of a field of 35; leagues better than his finish in Cagayan. In the Women’s Marathon, Sarah and Mikayla finished 8th and 11th respectively, including one simultaneous finish in Dubai at 6:26:51. Sarah also helped David out in Australia with a simultaneous finish, cluing us into her pre-game alliances should they all play in a future season together

Congratulations to all the racers! Not only is it a noble cause, but one that requires great sacrifice to the mind, spirit and body just to accomplish.
