The decision to vote out Sol Yi seemingly came out of nowhere during Survivor 47 episode 9. The episode was filled with chaos and uncertainty as the players headed to tribal council, yet the vote against Sol was unanimous.

Several Survivor 47 players who were bigger threats, physical and strategic, were vulnerable, yet Genevieve Mushaluk was able to push forward her own secret agenda based on a silly grudge caused when Sol cast a vote her way before the merge.

Survivor 47 has been as unpredictable as any in recent memory, and there are no signs that the exciting gameplay won't continue.

9. Kyle Ostwald

For the first time since all the players hit the same beach, Kyle didn't win immunity in episode 9. After winning it three straight times, Gabe Ortis edged him out in a long, grueling challenge, leaving Kyle vulnerable for the first. The opportunity was there, but no one took it.

There is no doubt Kyle is still in danger and is a huge underdog to make the final three. Any time he doesn't win immunity, he will have a target on his back. Plus, the previews for episode 10 showed Sue Smey going off about Kyle and how much she hated him.

Kyle seems to be one of the nicest players in the game. It doesn't make sense for Sue that she has that much dislike for him, especially considering they are both members of the game's strongest alliance. Kyle will continue to hold this spot unless his situation changes.

8. Teeny Chirichillo

Feel the FOMO
“Feel the FOMO” – The game is about to change when castaways drop their buffs and come together on the same beach. Castaways must find a hidden advantage to earn a huge lead in the challenge. Then, individual immunity is up for grabs for the first time this season, on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, Oct. 23 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+* (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day / CBS

Poor Teeny. When this season started, she looked to be a great social player with a strong head for strategy. Those things are still true, but things have gone sideways for her from the very beginning. Her closest friends in the game have slowly been picked off one by one for a variety of reasons and because of nothing specifically Teeny has done.

She has been on the wrong side of the vote in nearly every tribal council. Even though she voted for Sol, she clearly was upset about it and only did it because she didn't want to be the only contrary vote. At this point in the game, she hasn't pulled off a single move of consequence, and it would take a huge shakeup for her to save her game.

She might have an outside chance to make it as far as the final three because no one will see her as a threat. Even her social game will not be enough to carry her to a win unless she can figure out a plan to take out someone big and execute it.

7. Sam Phalen

Nightmare Fuel
“Nightmare Fuel” – Castaways must choose wisely as they split themselves into pairs at a crucial multi-staged immunity challenge. The deck is stacked against castaways when they embark on a journey that can drastically affect their game. Then, different names are tossed out at camp as paranoia ensues, leading to another crazy tribal council, on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, Nov. 13 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with /

During the most recent two episodes, Sam was completely blindsided when his top ally, Sierra Wright, was eliminated. Sol was someone else he wanted to work with, too. He's also been betrayed by Andy Rueda, who Sam carried through the early portions of the game.

Sam and Rachel LaMont will have to find some people to work with if they want to stay in the game much longer. Rachel is viewed as a big strategic threat, so she may not provide Sam much help. Genevieve would be a natural ally for Sam, too, but she just got rid of Sol and seems to have other plans.

Sam seems to be on the outs with just about everyone in power, and if it wasn't for Kyle, he'd be the biggest physical threat. It would be hard to imagine him lasting much longer unless the Tuku Four disintegrate because of Sue's dislike of Kyle.
