Survivor 50 was always meant to be a celebration of the best of the game, honoring the history that took place for a new era of players to add their own touch to the show. But some of our returning castaways feel the level of lying and deception this season is out of control.
Despite the fact that the “honor & integrity” alliance is basically extinct, Joe Hunter is one of the players who has been struggling with his moral compass each week. He’s playing a very similar game to Survivor 48 only this time with less trusted allies which seems to be taking a toll on him.
Check out a new sneak peek for episode 11, “Everyone Will Be Shooketh!,” (below) to see the conversation that might be the tipping point for a very influential player.
Cirie Fields has absolutely been running this game. Everyone who has come for her or her closest allies has been sent packing. But in a twist, maybe this week is less about preservation of her allies and more about preservation of her own integrity.
She’s undoubtedly one of the biggest deceivers in the game—which is the reason she’s having such a successful run this season, it’s called strategy—yet week-after-week, Joe comes to his trusted ally not to talk about the game moving forward, but to complain about something that happened, is over, and they need to move on from.
This week it seems Joe is once again—or still?—annoyed that Rick Devens wants to blindside people, which he tells Cirie. But rather than empathizing with him, she finally explains to him that that’s the way the game is played. He tells her it bugs him and then we cut to a confessional where Cirie calls Joe out for being a hypocrite.

Joe has actively tried to blindside Devens on more than one occasion, so it appears Cirie is finally fed up with her day 1 Cila beach tribe mate and the glass house he throws stones from. She even turns to Tiffany Ervin to then complain about Joe’s complaints to her. Tiffany agrees that Joe’s attitude is getting exhausting as the two hang out on the hammock—a popular spot this season.
Could a conversation on the hammock about Joe lead to his exit? He’s never been voted out of Survivor before, so if Cirie finally decides she needs him gone—with the numbers now pretty much on her side without him—we might finally see Joe get his torch snuffed in this game. Tune in Wednesday, May 6 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+ to see if this is the end for the beloved player.
