It's time for our last predictions of Survivor 47. Part two of the season finale, titled "The Last Stand," airs on CBS and Paramount+ on Wednesday, Dec. 18. I've been following along with these players throughout their journey this season, and so I have a pretty good feeling about what's coming in the season finale.
Only four players of the cast remain with a chance to win Survivor 47: Rachel LaMont, Sue Smey, Sam Phalen, and Teeny Chirichillo.
There are still two more challenges, though, starting with the immunity challenge. Then, instead of voting out a player at Tribal Council, two players will compete in the fire-making challenge for a spot in The Final Three. After that, the Final Three will make their case in front of the jury, stating that they are worthy of the title of Sole Survivor. It's the best part of every reality show, and it's the thing that makes Survivor the brilliant game it is.
So, I shared predictions for the immunity challenge, the fire-making challenge, The Final Three, and who will win Survivor 47. Let's get started with the immunity challenge.
Who will win the immunity challenge in Survivor 47?
It looks like there is a physical and mental challenge ahead for immunity in Survivor 47. This challenge, historically, has always been one of the great challenges. Based on the images that CBS shared from the final challenge, there appears to be a puzzle component as the players must find the right combination to pull the key from the lock.
Looking at the full season, there's only one player who has competed well in the immunity challenges, and that's Rachel LaMont. So far, Rachel has three individual immunity wins. Sue Smey has the only other immunity win of the players in the Final Four. Obviously, anything can happen, but it really feels like this is Rachel's game to lose.
Most likely to win immunity: Rachel LaMont
Stranger things have happened in the final immunity challenge of the season. Players who were locks to win their season have lost and didn't make it to The Final Three. Will that happen to Rachel? We'll just have to wait and see!
Who will have to make fire?
Assuming Rachel wins immunity, she has a big decision to make regarding who she wants to sit next to at The Final Three and who she wants to make fire for the final spot. Honestly, it's a challenging position to be in for any player, but Rachel only has one real ally left in the game. I believe that Rachel should choose Sue to come with her to the end, but Rachel also has to weigh whether or not Sue would be better for her on the jury as a possible deciding vote.
Ultimately, Rachel will want to make sure that Sam Phalen doesn't make it to The Final Three, so choosing the best person to go against Sam is also a pretty good idea, too. Sam appears to be the biggest threat left to Rachel in this season.
There's always the possibility that Rachel could bring Sam to the end with her. They started the game together on the Gata tribe. Sam doesn't have any challenge wins that matter (yes, I know he won a few reward challenges), but Rachel could make sure that Sam has now chance to add to his resume in the finale. I might write something about this later because it's such an interesting idea to me!
Who will make fire: Teeny Chirichillo and Sam Phalen
If I were Rachel, taking Sue to the end is probably the best move for her game. That's the karmic move, to me, while taking Teeny is the smart, logical move. We know Sue is not a person you want to cross. Sue already saved Rachel in the game once, so Rachel should pay back the favor. I'm not sure if Sue or Teeny are better at making fire, but taking Sue is probably better for Rachel's game. Then, Teeny and Sam would make fire for the last spot at the Final Tribal Council.
Who will win the fire-making challenge?
If Rachel wins immunity and Sam and Teeny are making fire for the last spot in The Final Three, I have to go with Sam here. I don't think Teeny has really done anything challenge-wise all season to think beating Sam is a realistic possibility. Sure, Sam could fold in the challenge, but we've also seen him perform pretty well when reward is on the line. So, I'm not betting against Sam winning the fire-making challenge.
Fire-making challenge winner: Sam Phalen
So, if it all goes how I think it will go with immunity, fire, and The Final Three, we should see Rachel, Sue, and Sam heading to the Final Tribal Council. Teeny would become the eighth and final member of the jury.
Who will be the Survivor 47 winner?
I have not been shy about sharing the one player I think will win Survivor 47. She's been at the top of my list of the most likely players to win basically for the last month, and that's Rachel LaMont. If all goes well for her in the finale, Rachel will be the winner of Survivor 47.
And, it's obvious why. No, Rachel hasn't been on the right side of the vote every time. She has been blindsided just like the rest of these players. She has not played a perfect game. But, every time her back has been against the wall or she's been in danger of getting voted out, Rachel has found a way to stay alive.
Early in the game, she forged a crucial alliance within her tribe that helped her reach the merge. Then, she was actually going home before an advantage via Sol Yi saved her life in the game. After that, she recognized Andy Rueda had flipped and used her Shot in the Dark to see how the tribe reacted. She found and played -- perfectly, I might add -- a hidden immunity idol. She won three individual immunities so far, including at the Final Five that saw her through to the Final Four. If she lost, she was going home. If she wins again, she'll have four individual immunity wins, tied with Kyle Ostwald for the most in the season.
As I have mentioned before, no other player has that resume. If Rachel makes The Final Three, she will definitely win Survivor 47. Against Sue and Sam, I think Rachel wins 6-2-0. If Sam doesn't make it, Rachel might be the sixth unanimous winner in Survivor history.
So, that's how I think things will play out in the Survivor 47 finale!
Don't forget to tune in for the Survivor 47 finale on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 8 p.m. ET!
