5 Survivor players who shouldn't be invited to Survivor 50

No offense to these five players, but we'd love to see others return for Survivor 50.

Since Survivor 47 ended, we have already started the countdown to Survivor 50. Not only is it set to be an iconic, groundbreaking season of Survivor, but there has been quite a bit of talk about which Survivor players will return.

There are a lot of fan-favorite players from the last 47 seasons. Obviously we don't know who we will become fans of in Survivor 48 and Survivor 49 just yet, but there are plenty of options regarding who we might want to see return. But as fans, there are also some players we don't necessarily want to see back for such an important season.

Whether we are looking at the new era of Survivor or going back to some of the older seasons, there are about five players I don't really want to see back for Survivor 50. So who should skip out on such a historic season?

Carolyn Wiger

Absolute Banger Season
“Absolute Banger Season” – The remaining five castaways must climb their way to victory in the immunity challenge to earn a feast at the sanctuary and a spot in the final four. Also, one castaway will be crowned Sole Survivor on the two-hour season finale, followed by the After Show hosted by Jeff Probst, on the CBS Original series SURVIVOR, Wednesday, May 24, (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. • Best Finish: Third place

For some viewers, Carolyn Wiger is a bit of an acquired taste in Survivor 44. And while I am a fan of her now that she is on The Traitors for its third season, I wasn't that big of a fan of her Survivor gameplay. At this point, I just don't see what she would add to the 50th season, except maybe a chaotic approach to playing the game.

Kenzie Petty

Mamma Bear
“Mamma Bear” – In one of the most emotional reward challenges of the season, castaways fight for their chance to win letters from home. Alliances begin to crumble and individual plans emerge after players compete in a race of balance, speed and puzzle skills to earn immunity and a spot in the final five, on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, May 15 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for | CBS

  • Season: Survivor 46
  • Best finish: Winner

Considering Kenzie won Survivor 46, you might expect that we would want her back for the 50th season. However, she isn't the player from her season we want back. In fact, the person we would prefer to see over her is the person she beat, Charlie Davis, who just hosted On Fire with Jeff Probst for Survivor 47. While I did like Kenzie as a player, I just don't see her being an entertaining addition to such an iconic season.

Cirie Fields

  • Seasons: Survivor: Panama, Survivor: Micronesia, Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, and Survivor: Game Changers
  • Best Finish: Third place on Survivor: Micronesia

Honestly, I feel like this might be controversial, but I don't want to see Cirie return for Survivor 50. Yes, she has made it to the finals three different times, but that seems like enough at this point. Plus, we have also seen her on Big Brother and The Traitors. At this point, I'm feeling a bit of fatigue when it comes to having her on reality TV. So if someone else could be part of the historic season, that would be amazing.

Rome Cooney

Feel the FOMO
“Feel the FOMO” – The game is about to change when castaways drop their buffs and come together on the same beach. Castaways must find a hidden advantage to earn a huge lead in the challenge. Then, individual immunity is up for grabs for the first time this season, on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, Oct. 23 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+* (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day | CBS

  • Best finish: 13th place

I know that Rome was a fan favorite for a lot of viewers in Survivor 47, but for others, he rubbed them the wrong way. And, I am definitely in that latter group. I didn't think he was a solid strategic or social player. The fact that he was the sixth player voted out means that he wasn't nearly as good at the game as he might have thought. So, why would we want him back to play the same type of game?

Chris Underwood

  • Best finish: Winner

Don't get me wrong; I really liked Chris! I love that he ultimately won his season after being voted out and then winning his way back into the game after surviving on the Edge of Extinction. I also really enjoyed his time on The Challenge and would love to see him do that series again. However, I just don't think he has what it takes to be an entertaining addition to Survivor 50. Could he return for a different season? I wouldn't be mad at that. But, I just don't see him being the right choice for a historic season (at least not at this time).

That's the list of five Survivor players we don't want to see on Survivor 50! The season will air on CBS and Paramount+ in 2026.
