Eva Erickson is very emotional in a newly released deleted scene from Survivor 48 episode 12. The episode saw Shauhin Davari get voted out at Tribal Council soon after he won a Reward Challenge and a letter from home. While Shauhin finished in sixth place, Eva, Mitch Guerra, Joe Hunter, Kyle Fraser, and Kamilla Karthigesu advanced.
Eva, from Providence, Rhode Island, seeks to win Survivor 48 and the $1 million prize. Her strong bond with Joe Hunter has made them a duo to be reckoned with this season, but it has also made them a target of the remaining players. Eva also still has a Hidden Immunity Idol given to her by Star Toomey earlier this season.
A new Survivor 48 deleted scene shows Eva Erickson getting emotional
Below is a deleted scene from Day 22 of Survivor 48. It was cut from episode 12, presumably because it didn't fit the narrative or the producers ran out of time.
During an honest moment with Kamilla and Mitch while Shauhin, Joe, and Kyle were on the reward and reading letters from home, Eva speaks about how she's "lost everything" that she had "worked so hard for at this point." She is addressing the muscles she built up in preparation for Survivor 48.
Eva states that:
"Coming into this game, I thought that I could be one of the strongest females to ever come out here. I know that I am so strong. I play men's hockey. I'm constantly battling against people who are bigger than me and think that they're better than me."
Eva later adds that she is sad about losing her physicality in Fiji and feels she is not performing as well in the challenges as she had hoped. "I feel like I'm the weakest I've ever been," she tells the camera in an emotional moment.
Speaking about reaching a low point for herself physically, Eva shared that it also impacted her mental state in the game. That's a difficult spot during a reality competition show, but Eva is tougher than she looks.
Can Eva overcome the lack of confidence that hit her on Day 22 of Survivor 48? We will find out very soon during the three-hour Survivor 48 finale. Someone leaves Fiji with that $1 million prize, and it's unclear just how the jury will feel. Can Kyle find a way to betray Joe? He will have to if he wants to make a big move with Kamilla and get them to the end as a duo.
