Survivor 47 has made it to the merge in episode 6. Let the chaos begin. There are players of power in each tribe, which means there are also players at the bottom of each alliance. This leads to new alliances forming post-merge as players scramble to find new situations to improve their position in the pecking order.
Survivor 47 has been a big blindside season to this point. The last two - Kishan Patel and Anika Dhar - upset a couple of perceived alliances and left tribemates not knowing where they stood with their tribemates. This always leaves fertile ground for flipping by disgruntled tribe members who aren't certain about their place.
It's been an enterainting season so far, and it's about to ramp up. Hang on, everyone!
Rachel LaMont
Former Tribe: Gata
Rachel has been playing a pretty decent, though low-key game. She thought she had formed a strong women's alliance with Anika and Sierra Wright. During tribal council in episode 5, Sierra blindsided both Anika and Rachel by voting with Sam Phalen and Andy Rhueda.
It's doubtful Rachel will trust Sierra again, and she shouldn't. The latter has gone against her best judgment and gone along with Sam, despite her being wary of Andy's game plan and Sam's loyalty to Andy.
Rachel will be looking for greener pastures after the merge and should be a vote for some alliance, at least for a few days.
Teeny Chirichillo
Former Tribe: Lavo
The Lavo tribe has been controlled by Rome Cooney right from the start and his ally, Genevieve Mushaluk, has played a more aggressive game of late. The problem is that neither has a strong connection with Teeny and Sol Yi, over whom Rome has run roughshod.
Teeny has been playing the long game since the get-go. Whenever she's had opportunities to be friendly to members of other tribes, she's done so. She's been working on her social strengths, and while that can be perceived as playing too hard, we've also seen it be a huge positive (see Kenzie Petty in Survivor 46).
Teeny and Sol could become a power couple if they choose to work together to take down Rome. Offering two votes instead of one could put them in a strong position, but they'd have to be careful not to overplay that hand.
Tiyana Hallums
Former Tribe: Tuku
It seems almost certain that Tiyana will flip as soon as she can. Though she partnered with the power triple of Gabe Ortis, Sue Smey, and Caroline Vidmar to oust her ally TK Foster very early, she hasn't seen eye-to-eye with them since.
The power threesome wasn't happy when Tiyana revealed a lot of tribal information during the Social Hour reward, and she will most likely be a prime target.
The Tuku tribe will enter the merge in a position of power, having five more members left. That can work against them because the other two tribes might want to cut them out to even the odds a bit, but Tuku only needs to swing a few votes their way if they're going to take out Tiyana before she can cause any havoc for the others.
Tiyana, for her part, will absolutely want to wreak havoc on her former tribemates, and she will find plenty of alliances willing to work with her to take down the strongest tribe.
There should be a lot of excitement over the next several episodes as everyone works on their agendas. Will we see another blindside, or will the targeted player not be surprised to see their name on the parchment?
Survivor 47 episode 6 airs on Wednesday, Oct. 23, only on CBS and Paramount+!
